Design View Not Matching Template

Thread began 5/15/2010 2:16 pm by clevegray407292 | Last modified 5/16/2010 11:03 am by clevegray407292 | 872 views | 2 replies

Others may disagree, but I don't place too much value on how design view renders, it is only really geared towards presenting basic box-model layouts, and assumes literal placement of objects according to the code in the page you're on.

Your uploaded image is quite difficult to make out (what is wrong with the image upload process here?) but it may be that where the menu titles are over-running their space and wrapping to the next line, dreamweaver is simply taking in to account this new dimension and thus pushes the content to the right.

If the design view layout bothers you, you could adjust the styles for the ul so that the items fit, but if the page renders correctly in browser preview, then there is no real need to bother.

In my experience, even live-view can misrepresent the way the page really renders, so testing in browsers is the only real test. What really annoys me about live-view is that it seldom if ever refreshes or responds to changes in real time without having to close and re-open it at each change.
