Honestly, it does come off as a little underhanded.
I think there should have been a notice of license change disclaimer right on the email I got from WA announcing the new version.
Yes, in the end ...it is the customers responsibility to check into those things...read all the fine print and all that jazz. But..when you are an exisiting customer and you get an email about an upgrade... with no mention on the email of said license change...but with a list of all the new and great reasons to buy it... Can you guys see where we are coming from?
It looks shady, from an existing customer standpoint.
You know, it is all coming down to WA was "had" by someone....it happens to all of us. It sucks, but now instead of being up front about your changes to your customer base...you get all techinical with the details.
I think most hard feelings could have been avoided if there was a notice sent with that email. If you say to me...hey heres a great new product, but here are the new rules... That would be sooooo much easier to take than saying....well it was in the fine print, sorry about your luck.
