Dynamic Drop Downs On Update Form

Thought I would post back the results of my ticket for other to see:

My Dynamic Dropdowns consist of 1 parent and 1 child. Both dropdowns assign a text (not numeric) value to the database. I do this for a number of reasons. So instead of inserting into the database a number like "2" it will assign a text value in the database like "Car".

To get my dropdowns to work on my update page if did the following steps:

1. Populate the parent dropdown from a recordset.
2. Populate the child dropdown from a recordset.
3. Create Dynamic Array SB
4. Then applied the following 2 behaviors to my opening body tag via the behaviors palette.
a. populate list from array.
b. set selected in list
5. The above made by opening body tag look as follows:

<body onload="WA_FilterAndPopulateSubList(rsSubCategories_WAJA,MM_findObj('categoryID'),MM_findObj('subCat egoryID'),0,0,false,': ');WA_setSelectionsInChildList(MM_findObj('subCategoryID'),<?php echo $row_WADAws_inventory['subCategoryID']; ?>)">

The generated body tag code assumes that the dropdowns will be assigning numeric value to the database (not text as I need to do as described above). To allow text, change the body tag to:

<body onload="WA_FilterAndPopulateSubList(rsSubCategories_WAJA,MM_findObj('categoryID'),MM_findObj('subCat egoryID'),0,0,false,': ');WA_setSelectionsInChildList(MM_findObj('subCategoryID'),'<?php echo $row_WADAws_inventory['subCategoryID']; ?>')">

It looks almost idenitcal, the only difference is two ' marks. I've highlighted them in the attached JPG.

This edit prevents a JavaScript Error from occurring.

Hope this helps someone else. Thanks Jason. I appreciate the support.
