You could try Firebug lite (getfirebug.com). That will allow you to inspect the elements on the page and change things on the fly. But with IE for the most part its going to be tweaking the code and giving it a try in IE. 
Thanks Justin, I already use Firebug. I think this is going to be a long tedious look back to the orginal and see what i've done wrong.
I know i've slightly lowered the main content box under the navigation bar, but it now is level with the rest of the site, using its index.php & main template page.
