Multiple single inserts

Thread began 2/01/2010 5:13 am by georgina_barrett_187762 | Last modified 2/18/2010 12:55 pm by georgina_barrett_187762 | 988 views | 3 replies

Multiple single inserts

I have a booking form that inserts a booking into the database using a single insert. On the same page I also want to optionally add 6 other booking options. Each option is stored in a seperate table with a foreign key to the main booking table.
2 questions

1 - do I need to set up a relational table for each of these or can I simply add the stored session id of the main insert in the foreign key field?
2- Only the main booking table is guaranteed a value. The others are optional. If I create single inserts for all the other optional bookings using the insert button on the main booking form blank values will be added to all the tables.
I can see a way around this by creating repeat regions for all of the optional bookings and setting the repeat to 1. Then I can specify if a field is blank don't insert the record. Is this the only work around or is there an easier way. Also can you name the repeats as I have 6 repeats all named Repeat selection (1) and it is a little confusing when trying to create the insert records.
