Thanks, Officeguy, I read through the thread you recommended and it was good information, but I'm afraid it didn't help me with mine. What I need to add is a kind of "Note to Customer" field in the admin "Update Order" page that would insert a note or information in the Shipping Confirmation email so that when a a shipping confirmation is sent to a customer, we can add other information for them--or not. I'm not sure which extension(s) would make this the simplest, or what order to take the steps in.
