All in the same boat!
Hello dearhearts all,
My, but this thread turned into a monster. I can't say that I understand quite why, as (as far as I can tell) everyone has an put forward entirely valid points and all are after the same thing, - an easier and even more comprehensive learning/reference/support infrastructure.
I have considerable empathy for esms who, as I understood it, was only asking for clear and complete 'walk through' video tutorials - albeit in a manner that reflected the frustration he was experiencing at the time, but that is a frustration that we all experience at one time or another. I also took esms' original comment to be complementary to those who have taken the time to prepare extra resources.
Like esms, I would like to see more complete video tutorials - I accept that some (maybe most?) people don't need them, but I can read instructions a dozen times, and not 'get it' - I don't have the kind of brain that can easily fill in the gaps (and there are always gaps) - whereas visual aids seem to work for me. With video you catch the bits that don't make it to paper.
But I also accept that if you approach the forum from a position of frustration it can be difficult to acknowledge just how much great support and advice there already is. I don't know of another support forum quite like it for responsiveness and quality of help, often above and beyond the scope of 'regular support'. This forum is the 'missing bits'.
I seem to have put most - but not all - of my early-days frustrations aside and now happily traipse through the threads dispensing my nonsense, confident that Jason will be following along behind to clean up the mess.
So, all in the same boat, eh?
