French characters not displayed correctly in receipt.php

French characters not displayed correctly in receipt.php

I work hard to localize POWERSTORE 2 for French usage (planning to do also a German translation later). All text needs to be adapted ! Nearly all pages are translated now and work fine except for correct display of french accented characters in the emailed RECEIPT.PHP and so forth.

After digging into the database I noticed that french accented characters are stored with "esoteric" symbols in the fields. I changed the standard collation of the fields from latin1_swedish_ci to latin1_general_ci, but the stored French accented characters are still represented with "é" instead of "é". If I change the "é" to "é" directly in the fields in MySQL, the "é" are correctly stored and displayed when I reopen the tables. But if I run POWERSTORE 2 later and update the product containing French accented characters, then the content in the field of MySQL reverts to "é".

I encounter the same problem with the DWC (Dynamic Web Charts) in POWERSTORE 2.

I think that an additional declaration must be added somewhere at the the load of the pages to instruct POWERSTORE 2 to handle correctly French (and later German) accented characters.

Many thanks in advance for any help and suggestions
