I changed the line for $hostname_exhibitions_cx_i = "" to the IP. It connects fine with a third party db management software. What you got from that file is the correct usn/psw for the db. That's what I'm trying to do....to define a new db connection with the new mysqli extension.

where can I download the new update?

Just fyi, I did update from php version 5.4 to 5.6 in the last hour in the Godaddy hosting.
