Can a custom query solve single category problem??

Can a custom query solve single category problem??

Like others on this forum, I'm disappointed by the lack of support for multiple categories per item in PowerStore2. Being new to the PHP/SQL side of things, I'm wondering if it's possible to get around the category limitations by using custom queries that use keywords in the item name or description to get around this. Our store involves accessories for specific vehicle models, but we'd like to be able to list products by overal Brand as well as Model or Type. Example: Search for "Hummer" or "H2" or "Shift Knob".

Is this possible, what would such a query look like, and how would it be implemented in PowerStore?
