Replacing ID key with column Name

I have looked at the help on this forum concerning the INNER JOIN but I am still a little confused how to execute this MYSQL statement manually.

I have table1 (courses) and reference table2 (course_category).

I have a foriegn key in courses called subject_cat_id. This is the primary key in refernce table 2 (course_category).

After using dataassist wizard, my insert record behaviour, sql statement on my results page looks like this:

SELECT course_id, subject_cat_id, course_title, course_code, course_price

FROM courses

I have tried to do an inner join;

SELECT courses.course_id, courses.subject_cat_id, courses.course_title, courses.course_code, courses.course_price, course_category.course_category_title,

FROM courses

INNER JOIN course_category

ON courses.subject_cat_id = course_category.course_cat_id

I keep coming up with mysql errors. I really need to replace subject_cat_id with subject_category_title, from (table2) course_category on my rsults page.
