Sever & Client Side Validation with Optional Checkbox Elements

When applying both Sever & Client Side Validation to a form using the Validation Toolkit, what is the proper way to handle “Remember Me” or “Optional” checkboxes?

My notes from using the toolkit before indicate that all form elements should be included when setting up validations. Is it simply a matter of allowing the value to be bank (Dynamic Checkbox Equal to: ) or just do not include a check box if it is optional? The help document shows using a checkbox that is required. In that case the Server Side is setup through the Property Inspector.

Please clarify the correct settings when including for both Sever & Client Side validation, thank you.
