updating a remote MySQL db via Dreamweaver

I should have been a bit more detailed. I have it from someone who seems to know (but not here now) saying there are tools that are more streamlined than export / import. Of course as soon as you say text editor, I should have ruled such things out initially.

I am wondering whether some of the MySQL GUI tools may go there, may have more a put / get capability. As far as I have seen, phpMyAdmin is an export / import tool. But I don't know other tools, which are out there.

And we can live with export / import if that is what there is, of course. Thanks.
