Image Resizer - can it work between domain and subdomain

I talked with my hosting company, and they said I could run a php script between two domains if they were both on the same dedicated server (linux).

Do you see any issue with this particular script running between two domains on the same dedicated server (linux)... knowing the script requires a relative path. Can you relative path from one site's root via ../ to another site's root. Have you guys ever tried this with this script.

I have limited knowledge of dedicated servers so any advice you may have regarding this would be helpful before I move these sites.
