Building convention registration platform - adding text field each

I am building a registration page, with different prices for member/non-member. A single user (company admin) will likely register several people for the convention. I think there are a couple way to make this work, but not sure how to pull it together....

I want to either update QTY in the form, and allow that "QTY" of field for attendee names...
Provide an add to cart button up-datable firstName and lastName fields, and the user can click an "add more" to create as many "registrants" as needed. Then a single add to cart button that adds that quantity to the cart.

I thought I saw a tut on adding fields in this manner, but can't seem to find it, and not sure if it would fit into the ecart/multiple item single add to cart behaviors.

Thanks for the help in advance!
