Manage Relational Tables example - help needed.

I have tried several times to get the Managing Relational Tables in Data Bridge
"How To" working on my test system.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 on Vista with DataBridge 1.1.3. and using WAMP as the local PHP server.

I can generate the pages - and the Insert and Update both work on the Master table (items) but not on the joining table (itemgenres).
Oddly? if I edit (update) a record in the example data provided - the related rows in the joining table (itemgenres) get removed!!

I attach the php files.

Any help would be much appreciated.
