Background Image repeat-x

Ok, having problems where when printing the site from IE it shows a line between each repeating background image. I did NOT toggle repeat X in Sculptor but now trying to hand code it. When I look at other sites CSS, they have background: #509dc3 url(../img/nav-bg.jpg) repeat-x; as an example.

I tried to add the repeat-x; after the bracketed link on my style sheet and the image does not appear. I take the repeat-x; out and it appears. I tried adding a line background image: repeat-x; underneath and the image shows up but I still print repeating lines of the background image.
