Adding subcategories to Powerstore – next step

Adding subcategories to Powerstore – next step

Hi,

I'm in the process of adjusting Powerstore to add subcategories. I'm going through the steps that are outlined in the following thread:

showthread.php?t=2785&highlight=modify+product+insert+update+pages

I've created the pages for the backend using dataAssist and have got this working, but I've found that I may need to update another page before going on to revising the front end (this wasn't a step outlined in the above thread but I'm assuming this needs to be done?).

I noticed that on the Products_Insert.php page, there's a select menu for choosing a category in which to insert the product. Since there will now be an optional Subcategory, can someone tell me if I need to insert the same type of select menu for the subcategory? If yes, would it just involve creating a record set of my new Subcats table and then populating the menu dynamically via the property inspector?

Would I also need to update the server behaviours on this page so that the product gets inserted into the correct subcategory in the side menu on the main pages (which currently only display category and product)? If yes, which behaviours do I need to revise?

Would really appreciate some assistance here.

Thanks
