add to cart not adding

Thread began 6/19/2012 4:48 pm by sam308940 | Last modified 6/20/2012 11:44 am by sam308940 | 500 views | 3 replies

add to cart not adding

I have just setup a "add to cart" button
but when you lcick it, the cart page says the cart is empty.

i did not change any of the add to cart code, but rather removed all the template (leaving only the add to cart related areas in the page). Now it adds to the cart.

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me in the past month. (another site i setup also had the issue).

what i have done for a workaround is this:
had the page that has all the page elements (for users to view), but with the add to cart button submitting to the page i made with nothing but the add to cart button. this works.

1.any ideas on why this is happening? ive obviously reproduced the error so its something IM DOING.
2.any feedback on my workaround? ie issues that could result from it?

Im attaching my pages here and giving links:
product1.php?P=755 (add to cart submits to itsself and this DOESNT add to cart)
product.php?P=755 (add to cart submits to product2.php)

Thanks in advance.
