If set up correctly, that is how it should work.

When a user logs in, their ID is stored in a session variable.

when the order is stored in the orders table, the ID of the logged in user should be stored in the OrderUserID column using the login session variable.

the order history section should use that same session for querying and returning the orders.

by using the logged in users session variable, it would only show the orders that joe created to joe, not jane.

It sounds to me like you are not using the User ID session for the orderUserID in the orders table.
