Only in the last 12-14 months did I become a web developer.
For the last few years I have been watching the development of web technologies to see which way it would travel.

From that observation I chose php/mysql.
It was included on cPanel on my hosting supplier and cPanel is the most popular one in the market and gaining rapidly every day.

I had many people tell me don't go that way, stick with ASP but I had a gut feeling, and the fact it's market share is not going up is proof.

I was not surprised when WA stopped development of the other technologies.

So in 12 months from not know ANYTHING about web development to now being involved in developing a sophisticated web application is amazing.

I'm building this app with DW & Webassist.

For those who use Webassist tools in ASP etc you probably should weigh up the time efficiency (and that's money) gained from using those apps compared to not changing over. Do the sums and if you don't change it's going to hit your pocket (at some point in the near future) far more than the investments you have already made in those other technologies.

Besides, PHP/mysql is the NEW STANDARD, so why not be apart of it ?
