problems with server validation of 4 digit postcode (zip)

Thread began 3/03/2012 11:03 am by adahpaul350682 | Last modified 3/09/2012 12:56 pm by adahpaul350682 | 1861 views | 8 replies

problems with server validation of 4 digit postcode (zip)

Dear Webassist,

I adapted client side validation to 4 digit postcode successfully. And the admin side of the registration-package solution works fine, if I test with a 5 digit zip.

However, when I want to suppress server side validation by deleting

$WAFV_Errors .= WAValidateZC(((isset($_POST["UserZip"]))?$_POST["UserZip"]:"") . "",true,true,true,true,true,18);

in the file "users_update.php" to allow for 4 digit postcodes (without server validation) this file even fails to show in my browser! i.e. the form doesn't work anymore!

Can you help me please to find a way to correct this problem.

(You would propably have to change the "WAVT_scripts_PHP.php" file to take care of 4 digit postcodes as well as 5 digit and other zips. As this file is protected by copyright law, I would naturally not do the change myself without your authorization.)

Once again thanks and best regards, Paul
