Database Connection Problems

I really hope someone can help me with this problem. I have uploaded my web files to the public_html folder. Some files are html and some php. When I try to access the site I get the following message:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /data03/bksol/public_html/Connections/localhost.php on line 9

Fatal error: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /data03/bksol/public_html/Connections/localhost.php on line 9

I am using wampserver2 as the local host and the localhost.php connection code looks like this:

# FileName="localhost.php"
# Type="MYSQL"
# HTTP="true"
$hostname_localhost = "localhost";
$database_localhost = "admin_bks";
$username_localhost = "root";
$password_localhost = "hidden for security";
$localhost = mysql_pconnect($hostname_localhost, $username_localhost, $password_localhost) or trigger_error(mysql_error(),E_USER_ERROR);

I suspect I need to change this line : $hostname_localhost = "localhost"; and similar ones but what do I change it to if this is the fault.

Please I would be very grateful for help on tis.
