Getting really frustrated with this application !!!!!!!!

I am getting really frustrated with getting this software to work correctly on my server aftr several attempts, lost of frustrated nights and rebealds. Version 4.5 installed on a linex based system - where the provider does not like the sytems to have insecure environments in which all sites on a server run as the same user - such scripts will tend to want permissions like 777 and 666 which are not appropriate here.

1. When accessing a collection the next field pops an error and default view of an error Sorry, the website products_results.php cannot be found.
2. In admin - unable to upload image files, access and link gallaries
3. When acessing editor to add image the following message appears: A file permissions error has occurred. Please check the permissions on the script and the directory it is in and try again.

Am I waisting my time with this application or is there some errors and fixes? NOte do not want to use solution to change all site accesses to 777 as recomended in one help column on the site.
