get_thumb.php script not closing correctly?

get_thumb.php script not closing correctly?

I have received this message from my webhost. It relates to the file that generates thumbnails for the HTML Editor File Manager component:

"It appears that the script get_thumb.php was running 483 instances of the same script at once, which can cause performance issues on our webservers. We have disabled this site for this reason. Often this issue is caused when the script hangs after having run rather than closing correctly."

I'm not quite sure what to do about this. I've removed the file for now and the hosts are happy, but it means that no thumbnails are generated.

Any ideas what I can do about this?

Thank you.
