Wrong value in drop down menu.

Wrong value in drop down menu.

I am not sure, wether this is the right place to ask. I have an online store with products, that are available in different sizes and versions. The biggest size XL is only available in the reinforced version. When the page initially opens, the drop down menu shows the regular version (which is not available in XL), so the size menu should not show the size XL ... but it does. Once I change an option and go back to the regular version, XL is no longer in the drop down menu (the way it should be).

The problem is, that a customer might choose XL for the regular version, which is not in the data base and hence the cart is messed up. The line shows the product name, no item number and a zero Dollar amount.

Is there a way to have the initial page load not show XL for the regular version?
