Creating Themes

You can easily update any of your Dreamweaver templates (.dwt) to utilize the Framework Builder themes. Once you have created your theme, you will be able to easily update any template changes to your site because the design elements are handled by the system like plug-ins.

Access

The following access point will launch the interface for creating a Framework Theme. Prior to launching the interface, you will need to have a .dwt file open and active in Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver menu

  • WebAssist > Framework > Themes > Create Theme

Converting your template to a Framework Theme

When launching this interface with your website's Dreamweaver template open in Dreamweaver, you will be prompted with the following dialog.

  • Apply to all pages in my site based on this template - Will convert your template to a Framework Theme and update all pages based on that template to use the Framework theme.
Leave this option unchecked if you wish to simply convert the Dreamweaver template without updating any other pages.

Once you click OK, a file will be created and stored in a 'Themes' folder which will be added to the Templates folder of your site. When creating new pages based on a theme, Framework Builder will look in this folder for all available themes.
