Customizing your Menu Writer menu design

The CSS Menu Writer 3-tabbed interface is designed to guide you through making custom modifications to the design of your site. This interface can be used to create a completely custom CSS-based navigation menu from scratch, or to simply modify a few aspects of a Menu Writer preset category that you are working with.

The following describes the options available within each of the three tabs.

  • Box: Provides options for modifying Dimensions, Margins and Padding, and Width and Height options for each individual element in your menu.
  • Type: Provides options for customizing the Type and font settings for each individual element in your menu, including font size, color, type and alignment.
  • Design: Provides options for customizing the design for each individual element of your menu, including background graphics/colors and borders.

Access

You can access the 3-tab interface to customize your menu design from the following locations.

Within Menu Insert Wizard: Choose the Theme Define button to launch the 3-tab interface while creating your menu for the first time.

Reentry from Properties inspector: After creating your menu, select it from within Dreamweaver and choose Edit Theme from the Properties inspector.
