Unable to edit your database…

I am building a new site and want to use PowerCMS for content management.

I installed the PowerCMS Extension, restarted Dreamweaver CS5 . (Windows 7 x64)
Using the Getting Started Guide, I select an area of an existing page and go through the Create PowerCMS content area

On clicking Finish, I get the “Unable to edit your database… ” message

If I click on the ‘Define’ button next to the connection option, I can test the connection successfully.

Tried deleting the cache file, no difference

Thanks Jason.

Fixed by ticket.

The database connection was correct as reported

In my instance, checking the remote box in servers for site setup fixed the issue.

Hi Craig,

Many thanks for posting back the solution (in your case). So many support ticket resolutions don't seem to end up being reported back to the forum threads.

Appreciate you taking the time.

I am the same issue "Unable to edit your database with the provided credentials.

MESSAGE:
Please make sure the connection user has write access to this database. (You may need to upload the connection to server if you have made changes recently).

I've also followed the instructions above...
1. Check connection to make sure the username and password is correction
2. Click select button when making a connection to make sure you can reach your server's database
3. Test connection :: successfully connected
4. Go to my setup options>>servers>>select remote and testing boxes
5. Open Power CMS App in Dreaweaver with content selected
6. Create a new "content location"
7. create a new "Conent Area" name
8. Click finish
9. Auto creates connection on both local and server
10. Error message shows up!

What do I do next?

If you are viewing this forum because you've done everything right and still have the the error "cannot write to database" please check your site definition in dreamweaver. Make sure everything is point to the "RIGHT folder you deem to be considered your "Server". You cannot create, modify, or delete and that cannot be seen. So if you change your server location for testing purposes in dreamweaver make sure your site definition matches to what you are pointing to in the server or u will have conflicts.

CMS cannot write to database

I have the exact same problem using PowerCMS 1.0.1. Please let me know how to fix the issue.

When did PowerCMS 2 come out? It seems like I just got PowerCMS.

Thanks.
