Updating to PowerGallery 1.2.0

If you have already installed PowerGallery, and want to update your installation to version 1.2.0, follow these instructions. This version includes a number of bug fixes and an improved file structure for better organization of files.

 
NOTE:If you have made any custom changes to any of the PowerGallery pages or themes, you will lose those changes when performing this update. If you are not experiencing issues with the version you are currently running, you may want to skip this update.

What you need to start:

  • A PowerGallery 1.0.0, 1.1.0 or 1.1.1 already installed
  • PowerGallery 1.2.0 .zip file downloaded from your Download Center

    The following steps outline the process for updating your existing PowerGallery installation.

     
    NOTE:Before updating your PowerGallery files, you may want to download a copy of your Connections and images folder in the event that these folders are accidentally overwritten during the updating process.
    1. Extract the contents of the PowerGallery120.zip file.
    2. Open a connection to your live PowerGallery files via FTP.
      Or your preferred method for accessing the files you are using for PowerGallery.
    3. In the root of the PowerGallery120 folder, press Ctrl (Cmd) + A to select all the files.
    4. Drag the selected files to your live PowerGallery files to update/overwrite those files.
     
    NOTE:Make sure to leave the Connections folder and the images folder that exist in your live PowerGallery files untouched. These folders contain all the information for the existing PowerGallery installation and the galleries and if overwritten the galleries will be lost.
