Linking to a Detail Page from your Cart page

Have you ever wondered how to apply a link back to the details page of a product from within your eCart cart page? This tutorial shows the steps involved in applying this dynamic link directly to the placeholder image on the cart created by the eCart Display Manager.

What you need to start:

  • Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4
  • eCart 5
  • Cart page created by eCart Display Manager
    • Creating the link

    Using Dreamweaver’s built-in functionality, we can create the necessary dynamic link.

    1. On your cart page, select the placeholder image.
    2. From the Properties Inspector, choose the Link browse icon.
      Select File
    3. From the File list, choose the product detail page.
    4. Place your cursor after the file name in the URL field.

    5. Choose Parameters.
    6. In the Name field enter ID.
    7. Select the Value lightning bolt.

    8. Expand the eCart option.
    9. Choose the product ID binding from the recordset.

    10. Click OK.
    11. Click OK on the Parameters window.

      Click OK
    12. Click OK to close the Select File window.
    13. Press Ctrl (Cmd) + S to save your page.
