Customizing eCart Email Receipts

If you have a recent version of Universal Email installed, eCart's Checkout wizard offers an option to create an email receipt. This tutorial describes the steps necessary for customizing the email receipt to add company logos and other personalized details.

What you need to start:

  • Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4
  • eCart 4 or higher
  • Universal Email
  • Confirm page created by eCart Checkout Wizard
     
    NOTE:This tutorial also assumes that Universal Email was already installed when using the Checkout Wizard, and that you chose for an email receipt to be created.

  • Customizing the Email Receipt

    Customizing an eCart Checkout wizard generated email receipt is very straightforward.

    1. Open the order confirmation page created by the eCart Checkout wizard from the Files panel.
    2. From the Server Behaviors panel, double-click the Universal Email server behavior.

    3. When the Universal Email dialog box opens, switch to the Body tab.
    4. Click Edit to edit the email body's HTML directly, or click DW Edit to edit the body in Dreamweaver.

      NOTE:When choosing DW Edit, you will be returned to Dreamweaver for making the necessary modifications. When you have finished making those changes, Press Ctrl (Cmd) + S to save your page and return to Universal Email.
    5. When you're done, click OK to close the Universal Email interface.
    6. Press Ctrl (Cmd) + S to save your page, then publish it to a email compatible server to test the results.
