Setting Up Your Content Management

The content management features that are built into Site Sculptor will need to be installed on your live (hosting provider's) server before they can be used to maintain the content of your site.

Follow these steps to complete the content management set up and get your site on the web.

  1. Upload your site files
You will need to upload all the files that Site Sculptor created. These files will have been inserted in the folder on your computer where your current Dreamweaver site is defined.
For more information on uploading your website files, see this tutorial.
  2. Run the Content Management Installation Wizard
The built-in content management feature includes an Installation Wizard that ensures everything is properly set up on your server for installing. To launch the Installation Wizard, open your web browser and enter the URL to your website where you uploaded the files. You will automatically be redirected to the Installation Wizard if you have not yet completed this setup.
  3. Maintain your site's content
When you have completed the Installation Wizard procedure, you will automatically be taken to the content management feature where you can start maintaining your site's content.

Once you have performed these steps, your website is live and ready to go.

Advanced Users

Developers who wish to make further modifications to the pages created by Site Sculptor, or those who already have a PHP testing server installed on their local machine, you can skip the step of uploading your site files. Instead, you can run the Installation Wizard from your local testing server, and can manually upload the files and import your database at a later time.
