posting file name to db not using data assist

I am using DFP to upload and rename files from an existing form that wasn't created with data assist. My problem is I can't figure out how to get the new file name into the data base.

Please help. If I have to go in and edit the PHP by hand I can, I just don't know what to do.

Digital File Pro creates a variable called "Server File Name". this variable needs to be used in the insert record behavior.

To get the syntax for the Server File name variable, go to the Bindings panel and expand the WA Uploaded Files (<File Field Name>) group. Then drag the server file name to the page.

You will need to edit the insert record behavior by hand to include the server file name name.

I don't get it.

I placed the server file name code into a hidden input named "petImage". but it returns a "null" error.

here is my code:

<?php require_once('Connections/petriever.php'); ?>
<?php require_once("WA_DigitalFilePro/HelperPHP.php"); ?>
<?php
session_start();
if (!function_exists("GetSQLValueString")) {
function GetSQLValueString($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "")
{
$theValue = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($theValue) : $theValue;

$theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ? mysql_real_escape_string($theValue) : mysql_escape_string($theValue);

switch ($theType) {
case "text":
$theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . $theValue . "'" : "NULL";
break;
case "long":
case "int":
$theValue = ($theValue != "") ? intval($theValue) : "NULL";
break;
case "double":
$theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . doubleval($theValue) . "'" : "NULL";
break;
case "date":
$theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . $theValue . "'" : "NULL";
break;
case "defined":
$theValue = ($theValue != "") ? $theDefinedValue : $theNotDefinedValue;
break;
}
return $theValue;
}
}

$editFormAction = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];
if (isset($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING'])) {
$editFormAction .= "?" . htmlentities($_SERVER['QUERY_STRING']);

You cant enter the server file name in a form element because it isnt set untill the file is uploaded to the server.

you need to hand edit the insert record server behavior to use the server file name.

This is why it is not supported to use the Dreamweaver insert record behavior with digital file pro.

Also, if you look at the code, the insert record server behavior occurs before the file is uploaded.

you need to rearrange the code so that the file is uploaded before the record is inserted, then hand edit the insert record to use the server file name variable directly instead of the form element.

This isn't a supported feature, so if your not comfortable with PHP coding, you will be better off using DataAssist.
