e cart - Do I need data assiat

Hi,

I have set up my website and bought e cart.

Now I have to add the add to cart buttons. Having problems.

Do I need to buy Data Assist?

I am going to use paypal as the payment gateway. I am not going to process credit cards myself.

Have I chosen the wrong cart?

Regards,

Niall

eCart can create the shopping cart functionality of your store.

you may or may not need Data Assist too.

Data Assist would be needed if you plan to build a data base driven product catalog for your store.

eCart gives you the tools needed to add items to a shopping cart, view them in a cart display page, then process the transaction.

other tools may be needed if your store needs additional functionality.

please provide more detail and a link where i can see the problem.

simply stating "it won't work" does not give me any detail to help with the problem.

you say the view cart button will work but the add to cart button wont work.

does this mean that the add to art button adds the item to the cart, but does not redirect to the cart? in order to redirect to the cart page, you need to click the view cart button?

or does it mean that the add to cart button doers not add anything to the cart, when you click the view cart button, it goes to the cart, but the cart is still empty?

Hi

I just wanted to add an "add to cart" button to my website and use paypal to my website.

I have added the button but when i click it it will not go to the shopping cart I have set up.

When I click "View Cart" it goes to the shopping cart but there is nothing in it.

I have attached the code for your reference.

Kind regards,

Niall

first, lets test the server to make sure session management is functioning properly,

use the session test page from the following post:
showpost.php?p=23826&postcount=2

to make sure that the server can set and maintain a session.

if the session test fails, you will need to contact the host to have them correct the problem, most likely it is a bad session.save_path in the php.ini.

Hi,

I am using a test sever which I installed. I followed from links from webassist.

Its XAMPP.

I did what you said.

My "add to cart" button still will not work

did the session test pass or fail?

perhaps there is a php error occurring that is not showing on the screen, add the following code at line 1 to turn error reporting on:

php:
<?php

error_reporting
(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors','on');
?>
