cannot edit conditional option name

I am not able to edit a conditional option name. the change will not stick.

Using PS3 version 3.01.

Steps to recreate issue:

  • Create new product with box checked to add options.
  • Add a *main* option with a few values
  • For one of these advanced option values we add a conditional option.
  • we enter a few values for this conditional option
  • we decide we did not like the name of this conditional option and wish to edit it.
  • click on edit beside the option name and get the entry box:Editing Option : Conditional Option
  • edit the option and click on rename

Results

  • nothing happens - the name of the option remains unchanged.

I'm afraid this could be a major issue if I want to change this later I would have to delete the option and would lose all related sales data.
anyone know what to do?

Nancy

Can you give ma an example of the options name you are using to see if i can reproduce the issue on my end.

Thanks.

I have tried this with different option names including test and random keystrokes.
It is not difficult to reproduce on my end. it will happen no matter what I put in there.
Please see this item for an example. I have just created it especially for this thread.

Products_Detail.php?ProductID=34

as you can see I have created a main options of called size. with values of small medium and large.

Each of those values (small , medium and large) have conditional Options. The title of the conditional option is Color. and the values for this conditional option are Red, Yellow and Blue.

If I want to change the name of the conditional option from Color to Colors (for example) it will not change. I can edit all of the values but just not the option name.

I don't believe that the problem is conditional upon what is typed into this field although i did initially expect something like this.

I have already reinstalled my PS3 using the latest version
Made all of the design changes by hand
created a brand new database
and begun entering products but still continue to have this problem.

Did you test this with your own installation? can you change the name of a conditional option? I wondered if it was a bug that just had not been notice before??
FYI, i can go into manage for the top level option and change the name of the option (in this case size) but the Conditional options name is where I'm having the problem.

thanks again, Nancy

Sorry I did not realize it was conditional options we are talking about.

I'm able to reproduce the issue on my end and to fix this issue i attached a zip that contains an options_Add_sub.php file that will need to replace your file in the admin folder.

Attached Files
options_Add_sub.php.zip

Well, thanks for that! i've been working at this for 2 days.
Works just exactly right now. Will you post that on the download page as a fix?

I have logged a bug in our bug base and we will try to create a known issue for it.

Thanks.
