Validation clears filled fields

ok this validation toolkit is driving me crazy, i have already several post and no fix yet to anything :S, now i just realized that when i have validation on a form page if i leave just one field in blank after pressing submit or insert it also clears the rest of the fields example i have a form with 4 fields

Name
Adress
Category
picture

i fill up name, i leave address empty i fill category from a drop down i place a picture file and when i clic insert it gives me the correct msg that the adress field is required but it also clears all my other fields what is wrong with validation toolkit, im getting errors if i try to validate pictures width and heights i get errors if i try to validate a file extension, what can i do i **** want to return using addt and would use it if the php 5.3 wouldnt do so much harm, the forms are auto created by the data assist wizard making the insert page update search etc... i have not done any custom code to those pages just used the data assist wizzard followed the pdf on how to validate, but seems these softwares are full of bugs, and this time i have made sure i checked every video and pdf to avoid what happened to me trying to apply sha1 that i missed some videos and thought i had readed all documentation, i have lost 5 days trying just to validate with no luck

Please tech support help!!!!

I assume that this is occurring for you on the insert page since the update page should default these values to what is in the db.

All that you need to do is go into the bindings tab and expand the form entry there. You then need to click on the first form field and then click the corresponding binding and click the bind button below the binding. I'm including a screen shot of this for reference.

that didnt work it keeps making empty the cells added the file so you can check that all where binded

Instead of binding to the form filed values, use the validated entries collection.

Select the form element, in the property inspector, click the lightning bolt, then select the corresponding dynamic binding from the Validated Entries Collection.

The validated entries collection is created by validation toolkit to hold the values of the validated form fields when validation fails.

where is the validated entries binding?

I'm trying to do the same thing. I have the form on a checkout page, submitting to a confirmation page (they were generated by the eCart checkout wizard). If I select a form field and click on the lightning bolt, I am offered access to ecart variables, the form variables or server variables. There is no set of validated form variables. I'm wondering if that's because the form submits to another page, the confirmation page. When I look in the bindings panel on that page, I see, in addition to those sets listed, the local checkout response variables from Authorize.net.

Thanks for your help,
barbara

the validated entries bindings are only available on the page that the Server Validation server behavior is applied to.

The work around is to drag the binding to the confirm page.

In code view, select the Valdated entry binding code and use ctrl (cmd)+x to cut the code, then past it into the initial value filed for the corresponding form element on the checkout page.
