Using Powerstore 3 For Existing Store

Using Powerstore 3 For Existing Store

Hi

I wonder if anybody could advise me of the best way of redesigning an existing online store using powerstore 3 for the new site.

I am going to use Dreamweaver cs4 and have all the webassist extensions. I would like to know if there are any time saving methods I can use to create the product pages which there will be about 100.

Also as the domain is being used at present by the current site what is the best way of testing as I build. I would appreciate any advice and help and thank you in advance.

Robert

I think you mean 100 products. There is really only one product page in a dynamic site. It pulls product information from the database.

I think with 100 items it would be easiest and safest to just enter them through the admin. It will give you a chance to get familiar with the store as well.

I would do your testing on your local machine.

It will be much faster working with the database on a local machine. When you are ready to go live see:

Thanks for the reply yes I did mean 100 products, Is it still possible to test using a local server given that I dont have control of the domain name yet as the old site is still live.

Am I also right in thinking that I will be able to see any customization I make to any of the templates.

Thanks again Robert

Yes the testing server will behave the same way as a remote server only much faster.

You would use the URL:
