Images invisible in Editor

Images invisible in Editor

I didn't fully understand the last thread about this.

1. Is it the case that PowerCMS does not show images in the editor?
2. If so, why? This product is supposed to make editing easy for site owners, is it not? Code that is dropped in to the editor in source mode is a minefield for editors if they can't see embedded images.
3. Where is it documented clearly what is needed to correct this?

Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking about, perhaps if you could provide a link to the "the last thread about this" that you are referring to.

Are you referring to uploaded images? If you upload an image using power CMS, it should show in the editor.

if you are just copying and pasting a image tag, than you may run into an issue with the image path. If this is the case, you will need to use a site relative path to the image so that the PoswerCMS editor knows the proper location to look for the image.

If you are pasting an image tag like:
<img src="myImage.jpg" /> The powerCMS editor will be looking for the image file in the same directory. for example, if you are at:
contents_insert.php

that image src will equate to:
myImage.jpg

If the image is actually at:
myImage.jpg

you need to adjust the src attribute accordingly. One way to day that is to use a site relative src:
<img src="/images/myImage.jpg" />

prefacing the path with "/" tells the browser to start at the site root, or:
mywebsite.com/

Thank you

"prefacing the path with "/" tells the browser to start at the site root..."

My thanks, 'couldn't see the wood for the trees', in this case the wood was between my ears! :)
