Can't load www.webassist.com

Hi. I'm a regular happy user of webassist products but a small general problem has emerged. While connected on my home broadband I can't load the Webassist website. I don't seem to have a problem loading any other website and others load quickly. This problem has happened in the last 5 weeks. I do not have any problem connecting using the same laptop at work, via my mobile GSM or any other WiFi connection. This is now a major problem as I am now working more from home. I've spoken to my broadband supplier and after resetting my modem they say they cannot see any reason why this should be and suggested I contact you guys. I will supply by IP address via email if required. M

Are you able to access parts of the site or do all parts not work?

For example, can you access the forum from home?
index.php

It may be an issue with the new design of the website as well. Did this issue occur before or after we updated the site?

Can't access any part of webassist.com at home. I'm sure I've loaded the new website before this issue. Really weird. As I say, same laptop on a different WiFi connection everything is great, as soon as I'm at home using my home WiFi (same broadband supplier as work) no go. I've tried resetting router - no difference, tried same location/laptop but using GSM on my mobile - all is fine. The only ideas I have is there is some issue with the router (although I have tried the factory reset), my IP address has become barred by Webassist's server or I've some sort of firewall issue that doesn't like Webassist. Help!

Well you've eliminated your OS, your laptop, and the connection to the Internet. That leaves firewall and DNS. It's not likely that the firewall got set for one website without your knowledge, so I would look at a DNS problem. And easy way to test that is to switch to a more reliable DNS server.

I use OpenDNS. It's free and less vulnerable than ISP servers.

You should be able to set it in your router.

Now an OpenDNS customer. Still can't access Webassist using home WiFi (I can connect using my Nokia GSM/Orange connection - using bluetooth, which is how I'm writing this). I've now tried 3 different computers at same address. No joy. There has to be an obvious answer to this....... ISP is baffelled too

Try typing in nslookup webassist.com at a command prompt.

This is what I get:

nslookup webassist.com
Server: resolver1.opendns.com
Address: 208.67.222.222

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: webassist.com
Address: 174.129.233.177

Cracked it! Firmware update of my Belkin router did the trick. Thanks for help :-)

Thanks for posting back the solution. So Belkin came with firmware that didn't know about WebAssist? :)

Great to hear that you were able to get this resolved and it wasn't an issue with the site. Thanks for posting back with your resolution.
