Relational table insert

Hi,
I am in a bit of confusion as to the correct steps for inserting relational data.

I have a products table
An Accessories table
A relational table connecting the 2.

This setup is virtually the same as in the example shown in the bottom of the relational wizard.

Should I apply the data assist wizard on the existing pages in the products pages with the relational table BEFORE i use the manage relational tables plugin ?

Is there a tutorial as to the exact procedure anywhere ?

Regards

Russell

Still no joy

I found the post written by Eric, I have followed the example discussed using the tables Eric posted still to no avail, I can't get it to insert into the lookup table. I feel really washed out over this, been at it for 2 days now.

Could the WA team create a "follow the dots" tutorial complete with work files on this subject ?
I feel many users would benefit greatly.

Problem solved

I have finally cracked the problem, it appears that on step 2 of the RT wizard the key binding value was not updating, it takes me 2 goes to get the code to stick.

Great to hear you were able to get it working. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to make a new forum thread.

redirect url on update page

Hi,
should I remove the redirect URL on the update page before applying the RT wizard as in the insert page ?

The code snippet is as follows

$WA_connection = $Yamahapianos;
$WA_table = "inventory";
$WA_redirectURL = "inventory_Detail.php?idPRODUCT=".((isset($_POST["WADAUpdateRecordID"]))?$_POST["WADAUpdateRecordID"]:"") ."";

Initial selection

Also do I need to bind previous selections on the update page or does RT wizard implement this once applied ?.

You will want to update the redirect URL and remove it from the update like you did on the insert page, you will also need to bind the default values from the rs on this update page.

The Manager Relational Table is a server behavior of DataAssist. It is something that you add to an insert or update page after running the DataAssist wizard.

Hi,
It is part of the DataAssist plugin set.
You can find it in the Dataassist server behaviour tab not from the top menu.
You need to have a multi select list or checkbox on your page to open the plugin or it will give you a notice that you need the above.
