Special Characters

In the name descriptions of several product items that are in our cart we use

Ö
(ex. Products_Results.php?Search=true&CategoryID=10)

Which causes a transaction error when the submitted from confirm.php

I've tried using Ö which didn't work...

confirm.php has this at top:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

This is the transaction error I get:

Try using the HTML Entity which is "&#246;"

I did - both the entity number and entity name....

This could be a limitation of the Gateway, but what gateway are using, so i can try to reproduce the issue? And are you placing the character in the product name only?

I'm using authorize.net (PP too - but doesn't seem to be a problem there.)

I'm using it in the long descriptions as well, but its not a problem there as its not info that gets transferred...

I was able to reproduce the issue you are having, and this is an issue with Authorize.net. I recommend not using these special characters in your product name and your description. There is a work around to this issue by removing the character before sending the information to Authorize.net, but that is only going to cover this case and if you use similar characters then Authorize.net will fail again.
