Windows server or Unix?

Windows server or Unix?

I've used all 3 versions of Powerstore. 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0. I have been going around with tech support for over 2 weeks on Powerstore images not uploading properly to my Windows server, and have concluded that it is just not going to work on my server. So I need to move the site, and since register.com is the registrar, I'm going to just put it back there.

For powerstore 2.0, what are the benefits of going with either flavor of hosting, Windows or Unix. Does it matter? Is one better than the other?

Any feelings about register.com as the hosting company?

Thanks for any input.

It really shouldn't matter. Unix is case sensitive for file paths, but other than that they are designed to be functionally identical.

Did you work with us on the issue or your ISP tech support? Did we create an incident for you and work with you over the phone? We still may be able to help if we haven't.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the quick response.

Jimmy has been working with me through the website incident you created a few weeks ago. He hasn't called me, I'm sure you guys are busy, but the incident scrolls down the page for a mile.

We've concluded that DFP is taking the upper left pixel on the image that I'm using (it doesn't matter if jpg, gif, png, photograph or Photoshop created images), and filling the image size with it. So if it is a black pixel, the images become black, and so on.

He hasn't been able to figure out why. I've created a test website, and now have all 3 versions of your software on our server through 3 clients. It is not working on any of them. Same results.

I'll make sure Jimmy calls you so that we can fully investigate this with you before changing servers.

We've set up a time to look into the issue over the phone. Hopefully we can get everything resolved over the phone.

I don't use Windows hosting for a number of reasons.
