Date order - today's date

Thread began 1/25/2010 4:18 pm by Martin317528 | Last modified 1/26/2010 5:16 pm by Dani Chankhour | 641 views | 1 replies |

Date order - today's date

I have a list and the order is by date, ascending (Recordset: ORDER BY itemDate ASC). To achieve this the field value is yyyy-mm-dd. The public pages show the date how I want by using php (<?php echo date('l, d F Y',strtotime($row_WADAblid['itemDate'])); ?>) All works fine. When I enter "today" in the field value it shows today's date - brilliant, but... the order goes to the bottom when if it's date order ascending it should be at the top. Any idea what the field entry would be to show today's date at the beginning? Or do I need to change the recordset code to display what I'm trying to achieve. Thanks

Your date column in the database needs to be a timestamp data type.

This will ensure the record set will order ascending correctly.
