Upgrading to Ecart 5

Upgrading to Ecart 5

Hi, If I upgrade from Ecart4 to Ecart5, will I lose the modifications that I made to Ecart4. When I go in the Extension Manager to disable Ecart4 to Ecart5 it gives me a warning that I have made modifications and I should "package" the Ecart4 extension first. How do I package and extension? If I package the extension will it hold my modifications and work with Ecart5? If it will, how do I load my modifications into Ecart5? I just would not want the shopping cart to stop working.

Thanks!

I haven't encountered that message before. What kind of modifications did you make to eCart4?

Before installing eCart5 or any upgrades to extensions, you should always remove the currently installed version extension first.

eCart 5 - PHP Only?

I have numerous sites using eCart4 and asp. Does ecart5 work with asp?

Thanks for your help. Turns out I just disabled ecart4 and then installed ecart5. Nothing was changed, nothing was lost! It worked just fine.

v.4 and asp-sites?

I too have several sites using eCart4 and asp. If I upgrade (already purchased v.5) how are I keeping the old asp-carts updated if needed?

Here is a post for using eCart 4 and 5 on the same machine:

Give this a try and let us know if there are any problems.

Sounds quite complicated. Do you know for a fact that simply inactivating v.5 and activating v.4 (as in both installed) wouldn't work?

This is how I did and it worked fine. On PHP!

Problems after upgrading to 5

Tried installing 4 and 5 but that didn't work. uninstalled v. 4, restarted the computer and installed v. 5. Now I get several same error-prompt's in a row upon opening any page in dreamweaver:

The following translators were not loaded due to errors:
The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
Unable to open script file "C:\Program files\Adobe\Adobe dreamweaver CS4\Configuration\Shared\Webassist\FormValidations\Library\WA Trans Share.js" (error 3).
