Database Integration Question

Hi peeps,
I am brand new to PowerGallery100 and just completed the installation NP. But now I am looking at the DB integration file and wondering in what instance I would elect to "store the path to my PowerGallery gallery in a database"? Why is this useful?

It is used when you want to integrate PowerGallery with HTMLeditor or PowerStore or PowerCMS - See this post showthread.php?t=7757
