Database showing ID values not Text Labels

This is probably a basic and simple question, but when I am using a seperate table to display values in my database I need it to show the text column not the column ID. For Instance:

I have a table of musical artists and then a seperate table with the artist Genres. The Genres table has a genreID column and a genre column, i.e. genreID = 1, genre = Pop/Rock

How do I get my database to show the Pop/Rock text in a web page instead of the number "1" when I am using the genre table as a relationship to populate a dynamic drop down?

I have a feeling this was poorly explained and way confusing...

Sorry! But this seems like it would be a common issue!

You need to modify the recordset to use a joined query to return the data from both tables. With out knowing the structure of both tables I cannot give the exact syntax to use, have a look at the following on the w3schools site for information on join queries:
sql_join_inner.asp

NOTE: bgw1999373018, your issue is a bit different since you are trying to get the labels from a select list. Your solution will not be applicable here.
