Paypal and eCart suddenly stops working?

Hi folks,
I've had this happen to me twice on a client's eCart that was working just fine and I made no changes to the cart, and the cart just stops working. Is this a common problem associated with Paypal or Webassist? Does Paypal make changes (without notifications sent to the store owner!) that disrupt previously working operations?

This is costing me time and $$. Not happy.

unfortunately, paypal does make changes to their API from time to time without notification that can cause things to stop working.

If you are using Payments Pro US as the gateway, add the following code to the checkout failure page to get the full request and full response from paypal for troubleshooting:

if(!session_id()) session_start();
"PayPal Full Request :<br />");
"<code>".isset($_SESSION["PP_DirectPayment_postedValues"])?$_SESSION["PP_DirectPayment_postedValues"]:""."</code><br /><br />");
"Paypal Full Response :<br />");
"<code>".isset($_SESSION["PP_DirectPayment"])?$_SESSION["PP_DirectPayment"]:""."</code><br /><br />");
