failed to connect to mailserver

I tried following another thread that had this problem but I couldn't make it work. This is what I get.

I tried leaving the smtp blank & it didn't work. This is what I have in the php ini.

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = mail.accessmultibids.com
smtp_port = 25

; For Win32 only.
sendmail_from = support@accessmultibids.com

My host says there is nothing wrong with my host side. This is the same problem I'm having with eCart but this time I tried to use UE without going through eCart to see if that made a difference and it didn't.

it sounds like your local computer is not able to connect to the mail server.


try testing this application on a remote server instead of locally.

exactly what do I need to do to test remotely. I have dreamweaver and what do I need to do to get my computer to connect if everything else has worked during developing for 2 years.

Upload the files to the remote server rather than testing from your local computer.

I found out that there are free smtp files that would allow me to send email from my computer because my ISP host requires a password and username.
