Showing "More Options Available" on the product list page

Showing "More Options Available" on the product list page

I would like to have some sort of note (an image or just a few words stating "More Colors Available" or something like that) next to the thumbnail of the products in the product_results.php page for items that have multiple options. Is this possible? What code would I have to add to the product_results.php page to show this?

Thank you!

Yes. Basically you will need to add a record set to the product results page that pulls the options from the product. However, this record set needs to be added inside the loop.

On the product results page look for this line:

<?php do { ?>

and add this below it:

<?php
$PIDParam_ProductOptions = "-1";
if (isset($row_WADAProducts['ProductID'])) {
$PIDParam_ProductOptions = (get_magic_quotes_gpc()) ? $row_WADAProducts['ProductID'] : addslashes($row_WADAProducts['ProductID']);
}
mysql_select_db($database_localhost, $localhost);
$query_ProductOptions = sprintf("SELECT DISTINCT optiongroups.OptionGroupName, optiongroups.OptionGroupID FROM optiongroups INNER JOIN options ON optiongroups.OptionGroupID = options.OptionGroupID INNER JOIN productoptions ON productoptions.OptionID = options.OptionID WHERE ProductID = %s ORDER BY options.OptionID", GetSQLValueString($PIDParam_ProductOptions, "int"));
$ProductOptions = mysql_query($query_ProductOptions, $localhost) or die(mysql_error());
$row_ProductOptions = mysql_fetch_assoc($ProductOptions);
$totalRows_ProductOptions = mysql_num_rows($ProductOptions);
?>

This record set will tell you if the product have options. And then you will use the Dreamweaver Show Region Server Behavior to display the text or not next to the thumnail.

Thanks!

I can tell it what text (or preferably what image) to show? Or is it going to show the actual options...

I'd like to say "More Colors Available!" ... Not the actual options. Is this going to accomplish this?

The code i gave you does not display any thing, it will only tell you if the product have options or not. so to display a text you will use this code:

<?php if ($totalRows_ProductOptions > 0) { // Show if recordset not empty ?>
More Colors Available!
<?php } // Show if recordset not empty ?>

Which will only display "More Colors Available" when the product have options.

Just wanted to let you know that this worked perfectly. I now have an image showing over the thumbnail in the corner - telling the user if there are more options. Awesome!
